1. The Association Agreement entered into force in 2000.
The Association Agreement covers the following areas:

  • Permanent political dialogue
  • Establishment of free trade zone
  • Services liberalization
  • Free circulation of capital
  • Reinforcing economic cooperation
  • Social and cultural cooperation

Association Agreement

2. An Action Plan, within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy, was presented and agreed on in 2004. It stipulates, among other issues, the following measures:

  • Legislative reforms
  • Reducing poverty
  • Support to the educational system
  • Management of migratory flows
  • Development of the transportation network
  • Development of the energetic sector
  • Structural reforms
  • Support to the agricultural sector
  • Free circulation of capital
  • Intellectual property
  • Organized crimes
